Phase 1 - Trust & Comfort

Although our rates are slightly higher due to having fewer children per caregiver, this approach is more effective; it allows me to build trusting relationships, observe each child's unique needs, and create opportunities for fewer distractions with more focus. I focus on each child's transition into the program by building a strong relationship and conducting ongoing developmental observations. This includes finding your child's interests and ways of learning. For some children, they may transition within 1 week, and others within 3 weeks. During this transition, my focus is on ensuring your child's smooth and comfortable adjustment to the program. The first 6 weeks that your child is attending Dozier Day Nursery are considered a trial period in order to determine whether your child is adjusting to our program.

Phase 2 - Respect

I focus greatly on respect. As a provider I believe I am the children’s role model in their childcare experience. It is my duty to respect your children as if they were my own. How you speak to a child can compromise how they begin to think of themselves. All children need to be showered with patience, love, and encouragement. I truly believe it is that type of environment that children will flourish into the beings that they are meant to become.

Phase 3 - Learning

Once your child feels comfortable, happy, and has established trust with their environment, friends, and me, I will begin educational learning. This is personally my favorite stage for the child as they will grow and look forward to our time together. Because, true learners never stop learning. There is so much to explore and so much knowledge to be gained from the world that we live in. Some of our back-and-forth moments together include recognizing babies' cues and responding with warmth and consistency.
